Biography

2024: Russ-Martin's final season with the Blue Hose was statistically his best, racking up 50 tackles (tied for the fourth-most on the roster) while being named All-PFL Honorable Mention for the second year in a row...His 34 solo stops were the second-most on the squad, responsible for an interception at Marist, a fumble recovery versus eventual league champion Drake, and a blocked field goal at Davidson...He'd go for a career-high 11 tackles against Drake at Bailey Memorial Stadium and 13 more during a season-ending four-game winning streak that immediately followed that contest...Disrupted one pass in each of the final three games while he and his brother Brooks both recorded an INT in the Marist victory...Had a tackle-for-loss at Morehead State from the corner position, appearing in all 12 games as a senior and starting 11 of them.

2023: Continued his ascent by publishing 45 tackles (fifth-highest figure on the squad), good enough to be in the company of All-Pioneer Football League Honorable Mention...Started all but one outing while finding 31 stops by himself, disrupting a team-high six pass attempts on the semester...Grabbed two TFL's - both in conference territory - against Butler and Morehead State, the latter coming in a season-ending victory at Bailey Memorial Stadium...Both of those tackles behind the line of scrimmage poked the ball free, responsible for a pair of forced fumbles...Made numerous key plays in the penultimate affair of the season against eventual league champion Drake (11/11), hauling in an interception before blocking a chip-shot field goal to close the first half...Recorded a season-best seven tackles (all solo) in the conference opener at Butler (9/30), one of five instances where he brought down a ball-carrier at least five times in a sole contest.

2022: One of eight Blue Hose defenders to appear in all 11 games on the year, scattering 36 total tackles out of the secondary...Started seven contests - five of which landed in PFL competition - while publishing his first sack at Western Carolina in the team's nonconference finale (9/17)...Beginning with the aforementioned matchup against the Catamounts, put together four consecutive bouts with at least five tackles, collecting 12 total (six each) in back-to-back meetings against Davidson (9/24) and Morehead State (10/1)...His 29 solo stops placed fourth on the roster, disrupting three passes for good measure.
