Andrew Ford

Andrew Ford, who begins his third season with the Blue Hose as the cornerbacks coach and recruiting coordinator, came to PC after spending the previous three seasons as a graduate assistant cornerbacks coach at Clemson.

Sporting one of the youngest defenses in the nation in 2009, Ford's cornerbacks proved to be a steady force on the unit. Sophomore Justin Bethel earned second-team all-conference accolades after leading the team in solo tackles (55), total stops (79), pass break-ups (three) and blocked kicks (three). He was also crucial to landing the program's second consecutive solid recruiting class.

His defensive unit clamped down on the opposition in his first year, limiting the passing game to 215.1 yards per contest. Ford helped orchestrate a solid 2009 recruiting class, as the program signed 21 student-athletes to National Letters of Intent.

During his time with the Tigers, the team earned a spot in three bowl games, playing in the Champs Sports Bowl, Music City Bowl and the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl.

As co-captain on Clemson’s 1996 team, Ford and his twin brother Peter, played in the Peach Bowl twice and Gator Bowl once during their standout careers.

His professional career began as a high school coach both in South Carolina and North Carolina before accepting the position with his alma mater.

Ford is married to the former Marjon Grant. They have three children son Jamauri, and two daughters, Jasmine and Jaxynn.

“I consider working on this staff a great opportunity,” remarked Ford. “It is a great time to be here and I am just happy to be a part of what the future holds for PC football.”
