Brian Rucker

Brian Rucker begins his first season with Presbyterian College as the wide receivers coach.

"We certainly welcome Brian Rucker to our staff," Nichols said. "He brings experience and energy that will blend with the rest of our coaching staff. Brian is an excellent recruiter and teacher and will help develop our wide receiver position."

Rucker comes to PC after spending two seasons as an assistant coach at South Atlantic Conference member Lenoir-Rhyne. There, Rucker coached the tight ends during his first season and oversaw the development of the wide receiver corps in his second year.

Prior to Lenoir-Rhyne, Rucker coached at Western Carolina. As a full-time assistant during the last two seasons with the Catamounts, he coached Lamont Reid, who signed with the Tennessee Titans and Darius Fudge, who was just the sixth student-athlete in school history to rush for over 1,000 yards in a single season.

In 2004, Rucker was a student assistant in the athletic department's academic enhancement program.

During his time at Western Carolina and Lenoir-Rhyne, Rucker recruited North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida.

A four-year letterwinner at Western Carolina, Rucker finished his collegiate career with 44 receptions tallying 558 yards.

A native of Winston-Salem, N.C., Rucker helped Mount Tabor H.S. to back-to-back Central Piedmont Class 4-A conference titles as an upperclassman. During his senior season, he hauled in 27 passes for 525 yards, earning all-conference, all-county and all-region accolades.

Rucker earned his undergraduate degree in business administration in 2004.
