On February 10, 2009,
head coach Harold Nichols hired Jeff Wilson as a linebackers coach and special teams coordinator for Presbyterian
College.
Wilson, a 1993 graduate of PC, makes
a return to the defensive side of the ball, having last coached the defense
when he was the defensive line coach from 1995-1997 with the Blue Hose.
After
his stint with PC, Wilson
moved to South Atlantic Conference rival Mars
Hill
College,
where he was the assistant coach, working primarily with the wide receivers.
During the year he was with MHC, Wilson
also undertook the duties of being the head softball coach.
In 1998, he
left MHC, returning to Clinton,
S.C., as the
assistant coach. While with PC, he served as the wide receivers coach, running
backs coach and worked with the tight ends while also finding time to be the
recruiting coordinator.
Wilson
left PC in 2001, becoming a running backs coach and a social studies teacher at
Collins Hill H.S.
A year
later, he made the move to Habersham Central H.S., in Mt.
Airy, Ga.,
where he was a history teacher. After school let out, he was the associate head
football coach, working with the wide receivers and as the special teams
coordinator.
Wilson
earned his degree in business administration in 1993, prior to earning his
masters of education from Converse College in 1997.
