Leroy Wilson Jr. assumed the role of coaching the Blue Hose running backs in the summer of 2023. At Presbyterian College, Wilson brings more than four years of experience to the running back room. Before joining PC as the staff's newest addition, he coached the 2021 season at West Virginia Wesleyan College. He oversaw the team as the running backs and tight ends coach. Wilson previously coached for two years at the University of West Florida. He served as the running backs coach at the university and helped the Argonauts win a national championship in 2019. During his stint at the University of West Florida, Wilson also coached a first team all-conference running back as a freshman.
Wilson, born and raised in Naranja, studied at Yuba College, where he obtained his AA degree. In addition, he also received a sports management degree from the University of West Florida. Wilson's rich educational background prepared him for a successful career in the backfield. His personal goal is to continue growing in the coaching community. Furthermore, through his extensive coaching career, Wilson hopes to inspire others. He disclosed that he is a believer in faith, a positive attitude, and effort. His vast educational background and strong personal goals have helped him establish a thriving running back coaching career.
He discloses that he is family oriented. Wilson has a 10-year-old daughter named Laila Wilson. In his words, Wilson posited that his daughter "means the world to me.” As a family-oriented man, Wilson loves his parents. His parents are Leroy Wilson Sr. and Emily Salters. In sum, this demonstrates that he puts his loved ones, particularly his daughter and parents, at the core of his priorities.
