Genovese comes to PC after spending the last season as the wideouts coach at Gannon University. Prior to his time at Gannon, he spent three years as the offensive coordinator at Dodge City Community College. Genovese got his coaching career going at Middle Tennessee where he spent three years as an offensive graduate assistant, coaching the inside wide receivers.

During his time at Gannon, he was in charge of all prep for the wideouts and assisted in creation and implementation of weekly game plan. He was also in charge of all football operations.

At Dodge City, he was responsible for the implementation and executing of the offensive schemes and all offensive practice and game plans. He directly coached the quarterbacks and wide receivers. He coached DaQuan Bailey-Brown who was second team NJCAA All-American Wideout and first team ALL KJCCC. Brown was also named the 2019 offensive player of the year.

During his time at Middle Tennessee, he was a graduate assistant that worked mainly with the inside wide receivers in Murfreesboro. In 2017 he coached the No. 2 receiving duo in the nation that combined for 386 catches. The team in 2017 also was Camellia Bowl Champions. In 2018, the Blue Raiders were 8-6 including 7-2 in CUSA which netted them a division championship and they went onto win the Championship in CUSA. He had the teams two leading receivers in 2018 in Ty Lee (67 rec./828 yards/seven touchdowns) and Patrick Smith (54 rec./526 yards/6 touchdowns).

In his playing career at Middle Tennessee, he was a member of two bowl teams in the Armed Forces Bowl in 2013 and the Bahamas Bowl following the 2015 season.
