Johnson joins PC’s football program after a one-year stint as a strength and conditioning graduate assistant at Middle Tennessee State University.

The Blue Raiders finished the season with the Sun Belt Conference championship and played in the Motor City Bowl in December of 2006.

Johnson graduated from Appalachian State University in 2006 with a degree in Health Education. The Charlotte, N.C. native currently owns a teacher’s certificate in North Carolina.

During his time at Appalachian State, Johnson was a four-year letterwinner and a two-year starter at wide receiver for Jerry Moore’s Mountaineers.

Johnson was also a member of Appalachian State’s first ever National Championship in 2005. He had six catches for 101 yards in the champion­ship game victory over Northern Iowa.
