Pierre Miller

Pierre Miller is in his second season with the men's basketball team as assistant coach.

“I could not be more excited about the hiring of Pierre (Miller),” said Nibert.  "In the five years that Pierre was a player he brought it every day to practice and to every game. He never had a day where he didn’t hustle or had a tremendous attitude. Pierre is extremely loyal and he makes other players better because he cares. He will be a real asset in recruiting with his positive attitude. He will also be tremendous working with Coach (Justin) Smith and our perimeter players. I am so excited about him wanting to give back to the program and to Presbyterian College.”

Miller, a native of Warner Robbins, Ga., was a star guard for the Blue Hose from 2007-2011. He started in 93 of 119 games for PC and recorded close to 1,000 career points and over 300 assists. He hit a PC Division record 206 three-pointers off another career mark 537 attempts.  His 328 assists ranks first in the record books as well, while his 930 points is third. Miller’s 119 games played is first in the PC Division record books as well.

“I am humbled at this opportunity to be able to come back to a program I was once part of,” said Miller. “I feel welcome and at home here. I enjoy the community here, the city of Clinton and the way everyone supports athletics. I look forward to giving back to PC and Coach Nibert, who helped me and gave me a chance out of high school. I am excited about giving back to the players as well and sharing what I learned as a player and student-athlete.”

Miller, who earned his degree in sociology in 2012, posted two 20-point games during his career, and 42 double-digit contests. His career-high came in a 23-point performance against Davidson his senior year.  Miller’s10 assists at Eastern Kentucky in 2010 still ranks number one in the PC Division I record book.

Miller is married to the former Maurissa Strickland and they reside in Fountain Inn, S.C., with her daughter, Julia. The couple has a son, Noah, who was born in October 2013.
