Kat Kundmueller

Kat Kundmueller enters her second season as an assistant coach for the Presbyterian College women's basketball program.

In the first year under Kundmueller, the Blue Hose won eight of its last 11 Big South Conference games and earned their first ever win in the Big South Conference Championship tournament. Working with the team's guards, Kundmueller helped PC rank second in the NCAA in scoring defense, holding opponents to 53.5 points per game, and the Blue Hose led the Big South in field goal percentage defense, three-point field goal percentage defense and rebounding defense.

Kundmueller brings a strong coaching background to PC after three years as the top assistant at Faulkner (Ala.) University. Under Kundmueller’s guidance, the Lady Eagles improved their standing in the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) every season en route to a No. 18 NAIA national ranking in 2012-13 and the SSAC West division’s best record. The coach also helped Faulkner to an upset of No. 12 Xavier in the NAIA National Tournament Opening Round, the program’s first-ever appearance in the tournament.

In addition to the team’s sparkling 26-7 record, Kundmueller helped Faulkner post the second-best field goal percentage defense and field goal percentage in NAIA Division I last season. The Lady Eagles also ranked in the nation’s top 15 in assists, rebound defense, rebound margin, scoring defense, scoring offense and scoring margin in Kundmueller’s final season as a coach—all improvements from the previous two seasons.

Kundmueller starred at Abilene Christian University as player, racking up a slew of assists records for the Division II Wildcats before her graduation in 2010. The former point guard holds the school records for career assists (584), career assists per game (5.1), single-season assists (213), single-season assists per game (7.6) and single-game assists (16). She also helped guide ACU to the NCAA Regionals in her final two seasons and ranked second in the nation in assists per game during both campaigns as well.

The Fort Worth native excelled off the court as well, earning a bachelor's degree in psychology with a 3.89 grade-point average. She was also a two-time selection to the Lone Star Conference all-academic team and a two-time All-Lone Star Conference honorable mention.
