Monique Dawson

Monique Dawson enters her second season as an assistant coach under head coach Ronny Fisher for the Presbyterian College women’s basketball team.

Dawson graduated with a B.A. in Communications from Western Carolina University in May 2008 after finishing a standout four-year playing career for the Catamounts.

The Charlotte, N.C. native was named to the All-Southern Conference Preseason Team her junior and senior seasons. She became the 19th Lady Catamount to reach 1,000 points, ending her career with 1,216 points and ranking 12th in the Western Carolina record books.

The Lady Catamounts boasted 20-win seasons and made consecutive trips to the WNIT tournament in 2007 and 2008. The team also won the program’s first Southern Conference regular season title in 2007. Dawson was part of the first WCU team to win the Southern Conference Tournament Championship and advance to the NCAA tournament in her freshman season.

Dawson was selected to the NIKE/Women’s Basketball Coaches Assciation ‘So You Want to Be a Coach’ program. She currently resides in Clinton.
