Kalin Zimmerman is in her first season as assistant coach for PC Volleyball.
Zimmerman comes from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay in 2013, coaching the liberos and defensive specialists.
Zimmerman helped lead the Phoenix to a 15-14 record and an appearance as the No. 4 seed in the Horizon League Tournament. She coached a group of three liberos, one of which, Jillian Bauer, was named Horizon League Player of the Week last Nov. 4.
Zimmerman has additional experience as a head coach at the club level, leading the Green Bay Power in 2013-14.
As an athlete, Zimmermann was a defensive specialist for the Badger Blizzards – a professional women's volleyball team in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) – in 2013 and '14, helping the squad to an Adult USA Volleyball Nationals appearance in May of 2013.
She played collegiately at Northern Michigan, where she starred at libero for the Wildcats in 2011 and '12. Her senior year, she played in 31 of a possible 32 matches, recording a team-high 374 digs while accumulating 54 assists and 24 service aces. She received the team's Top Newcomer Award as a junior in 2011 after appearing in all 29 matches, leading the team with 390 digs and collecting 60 assists and 23 aces.
Prior to NMU, she played for two years at Kishwaukee College of the NJCAA in 2009 and 2010, advancing to the national semifinals her first year there. Zimmerman was named to the region's all-tournament team as a freshman and was selected as team captain as a sophomore.
A native of Green Bay, Wisconsin, Zimmerman graduated from Northern Michigan in 2013 with a degree in business administration.
