Regan Duty was formally introduced as Presbyterian Volleyball's Assistant Coach on July 27, 2023. A renowned competitor at nearby Anderson University, Duty comes to PC following an assistantship at FCA Upstate Volleyball Club for multiple years that included services as one of the club’s head coaches.
“We’re very excited to welcome Regan to the PC Volleyball family”, remarked Benson, who became Presbyterian’s fourth head coach of the school’s Division I era on May 4. “She brings experience from her college playing days as well as her time coaching club for the past few years, which is something that caught my eye during the assistant search”.
“Regan has hit the ground running and we can’t wait to start the season with her and our mix of new and returning Blue Hose athletes”.
A fantastic right side hitter over five seasons at Anderson, Duty compiled 934 kills during her time with the Trojans beside a career attack percentage of .239, part of 110 total victories and a pair of South Atlantic Conference regular season titles (2017 and 2021).
While Duty was a member of the program, Anderson captured a win nearly 80% of the time. This efficiency led to four NCAA Division II Tournament appearances and three trips to the Southeast Regional Semifinals while Regan turned into a consistent starter from her sophomore season onwards.
“I couldn’t be more excited to be joining the Presbyterian volleyball program with coach Benson”, commented Duty on her move to Clinton. “Having the opportunity to coach these incredible student-athletes is truly a blessing. My goal is to encourage and guide them toward success on the court as well as off”.
An All-SAC Honorable Mention performer as both a second and third-year player, Duty was awarded an all-conference Second Team plaudit in 2020 and an upgrade to First Team status over her fifth and final go-round the next fall. Additionally, she was named All-Region by D2CCA in that 2021 stretch and was a member of the AVCA All-Region Tournament squad that same year, a distinction she also achieved three seasons prior.
Passing 20 wins in each full season for the Trojans, Duty would finish her playing career with 2.55 kills per set to go along with 190 blocks and over triple digits in digs as well. Only missing five matches combined over her last four years, Regan posted a career-best .295 hitting clip in 2021 as her group reached the final 32 of the national tourney for the third time.
In the shortened 2020 campaign, Duty reached a .636 attack percentage versus Carson-Newman, a number that ranks fifth in school history over a single contest. Just three games earlier, she equaled the fourth-highest mark over a single match by any Anderson player with eight block assists in a road victory over Lincoln Memorial.
During her exceptional collegiate career, Duty transitioned to the staff at the FCA Upstate Volleyball Club where she remained once her playing days had concluded.
