BLUE HOSE DEFEAT BEARS 1-0

CLINTON, SC - Presbyterian College senior midfielder Jamie Harris (Greenville, SC) scored with 13 minutes left in regulation to give the Blue Hose a 1-0 win over Lenoir-Rhyne College in women's soccer action Tuesday afternoon.

The match was the South Atlantic Conference opener for the Blue Hose and the Bears gave them all that they could handle. PC outshot the Lenoir-Rhyne 10-3 in the first half but could not find the back of the net.

The Blue Hose opened the second half with a flurry of shots but could not score until Harris found the back of the net off an assist from teammates senior forward Ashley Davies (Greenville, SC) and senior defender Courtney Swanson (Tega Cay, SC).
Swanson cleared the ball to Davies who setup Harris with a touch pass to score the gamewinner.

On the day, L-R's goalkeeper freshman Julie Crosby (Cincinnati, OH) was credited with 14 saves while allowing only one goal. Crosby's counterpart in goal for the Blue Hose, junior Lara Johnson (Hilliard, OH) was credited with a shutout and added three saves.

The Blue Hose improve to 2-2 overall and 1-0 in the SAC while the Bears fall to 3-3 and 0-2 in league play.
