JEFFERSON CITY, TN - Carson-Newman and Presbyterian battled defensively for 120 minutes today at McCown Field and the result was a tie game. The Lady Eagles are now 3-5-1 overall, and 0-2-1 in South Atlantic Conference action.
In the first period, the Blue Hose out shot the Lady Eagles 11 to 4; however, Lady Eagle freshman goalkeeper Erin Pangerl (Boca Raton, Fla.) had 8 saves for Carson-Newman.
Both teams played to a scoreless tie again in the second period. The Lady Eagles only took 3 shots in the first OT, whereas PC tallied 7. Never fear Erin Pangerl added 4 saves to her record in the first OT, to help the Lady Eagles force play into a second OT. The Lady Eagles and Blue Hose of PC both remained scoreless in the second OT resulting in a tie game.
Presbyterian's record moves to 3-3-1 (1-1-1 SAC). The Blue Hose are back in action Wednesday, Sept. 27, when they travel to Hickory, NC to take on Mars Hill College at 6:30 p.m.
