BLUE HOSE WOMEN'S SOCCER SHUTOUT BEARS 5-0

CLINTON, S.C. - The #15-ranked Blue Hose of Presbyterian College had five different players score goals in their 5-0 shutout of the Bears of Lenoir-Rhyne College in South Atlantic Conference women's soccer action Tuesday afternoon.

The Blue Hose (5-0-0, 2-0-0 SAC) took a early 1-0 lead at the 6:40 mark when sophomore forward Noel Livernois (Greenwood, S.C.) found the back of the net off a double assist from senior forward Jessi Adair (Decatur, Ga.) and junior midfielder Ashley Cooke (Roswell, Ga.). Adair increased the lead to 2-0 on a penalty kick at the 15:46 mark.

PC scored two more times in the first half, as freshman Elizabeth Orstadt (Marietta, Ga.) scored her third goal of the season off an assist from Adair at the 30:26 mark. The final goal of the half came at the foot of senior defender Jocelyn Darrow (Savannah, Ga.) who ripped a shot pass the Bears' defense at the 41:43 mark.

The first half ended with a 4-0 Blue Hose lead and a 9-2 shot advantage for Presbyterian on the scoreboard. The second half saw the Blue Hose control the field as they picked up their final goal of the day at the foot of junior forward Delisa Smith (Anderson, S.C.) who found the back of the net off an assist from Livernois and freshman midfielder Megan Smith (Greenville, S.C.) at the 63:49 mark.

Lenoir-Rhyne (5-1-1, 1-1-0 SAC) did not tally a shot in the second half and were outshot 24-2 for the match including a 13-0 disadvantage in shots on goal.

In goal for the Bears were junior Julie Crosby (Cincinnati, OH) and freshman Abby Barnes (Spartanburg, S.C.). Crosby played 67:14 in goal and allowed five goals while tallying six saves. Barnes tallied 22:45 in goal and picked up one save. For the Blue Hose, junior keeper Aimee Tatom (Irving, Tex.) played 69:09 in goal while no allowing a goal and freshman Megan Mueller (Kingsport, Tenn.) was goal for 20:51 and did not allow a shot or goal.

Presbyterian, ranked #2 in the Southeast region, return to play on Saturday, September 21 when they host Longwood College at 12 noon. Lenoir-Rhyne, who entered the match ranked tied for ninth in the region, return to action on Sunday, September 22 when they travel to Belmont, N.C. to take on the #6-ranked Lady Crusaders of Belmont Abbey College at 3:00 pm.
