FLORENCE, S.C. - Junior Matthew Elliott (Green Sea, S.C.) brought home individual honors as Elliott captured the 17th Annual Francis Marion University Invitational Cross Country Meet and led the Presbyterian College men's cross country team to a second-place finish on Saturday morning in the five-team field with 43 points.
Elliott ran the 4.57-mile race in 24:41.99, which was 50 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher, Limestone College's Brent Clausing.
North Greenville College took home the men's team title with a low score of 37 points as the Crusaders captured four Top 10 finishes.
Senior Nicholas Williams (Greenwood, S.C.) placed sixth in 26:31.06, while junior Nate Price (Atlanta, Ga.) came in seventh with his time of 26:48.69 to help the Blue Hose to their second-place finish.
Presbyterian College will return to action on Friday, September 30 when PC hosts the Blue Hose Meet in Clinton, S.C. The meet is scheduled to start at 4:00.
