RADFORD, Va.- Senior Amy Jones scored seven points, while teammates Bridget Takach and Katlin Moore each added six in a 66-36 Presbyterian College loss to Kent State in the consolation game of the inaugural Radford Christmas Classic.
PC now stands at 1-14 on the season, while Kent State moves to 3-7 overall with the win over the Lady Blue Hose.
Jones (Warthen, Ga.), scored seven points on 3-of-10 shooting from the floor, while also grabbing five boards. Takach (Chapin, S.C.) led the team with two three-pointers.
Moore (Fort Mill, S.C.) scored her six points on the afternoon on 3-of-7 shooting.
Taylor Price (Fort Bragg, N.C.) and Lea Smith (Marion, N.C.) shared team-highs in rebounds with five.
Four Kent State players reached double-figures led by Ellie Shields, who had 19 points. Shields also pulled down a game-high 15 rebounds.
Teammate Anna Kowalska scored 12 points and snagged 14 boards. Stephanie Gibson (13 pts.) and Rachel Bennett (11 pts.) rounded out double-figure scorers for the Golden Flashes.
The Blue Hose finished the contest going 25.2 percent (16-of-62) from the floor and connecting on three 3-ptrs in the game. Kent State hit on 24-of-63 field goal attempts (38. 1 percent), scoring 28 points in the paint.
PC led on three occasions in the first half with the first coming on a 3-pointer by Bridget Takach for the first Blue Hose points of the game. Over a minute later Moore sank a jumper to make the score 5-4 in favor of PC.
Kent State then answered with a 17-3 run that was sparked by five points each from Rachel Bennett and Stephanie Gibson to take a 23-10 lead at the 10:19 mark of the first half.
The Golden Flashes took a 33-17 lead into halftime and then outscored PC 33-19 in the second half to earn the 66-36 win.
The Lady Blue Hose next take on seventh-ranked and unbeaten Georgia at Stegeman Coliseum at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 2.
