PC Obtains Third Straight Shutout Win

BUIES CREEK, N.C.- Kate Baker (Forsyth, Ga.) scored a first half goal before Millie Green (Columbia, S.C.) struck in the second half to lift Presbyterian past Campbell 2-0 Wednesday night at the Eakes Athletic Complex.

The victory gives PC its third consecutive shutout win and moves the Blue Hose above .500 for the first time in the program's NCAA Division I history at 3-2. The Blue Hose have also now scored at least two goals in every match this season.

Baker, a freshman forward, broke the tie in the 28th-minute of play as she took a Christy Howard (Lilburn, Ga.) cross and punched the ball past Campbell keeper Boomie Luck. The goal was Baker's fourth of the season.

PC extended its lead in the 66th-minute as Maggie Carruth (Roswell, Ga.) set the stage for Millie Green. Green capitalized on Carruth's floating cross, striking a volley into the top left corner of the net that extended the margin to 2-0.

Presbyterian finished with a 13-11 edge in shots, including a 7-3 advantage in shots on goal. Campbell keeper Boomie Luck collected five saves, while Presbyterian's Abby Young (Charlotte, N.C.) tallied three.
