FLORENCE, S.C. ? Francis Marion snapped a three-game PC winning streak in a 1-0 victory over the Blue Hose on Sunday afternoon.
The Blue Hose are now 3-3 in their first NCAA Division I season, while FMU improves to 3-3-1 with the victory.
Angela Salem scored the match's only goal in the seventh minute when she corralled a loose ball in the box, knocking the ball in from five yards out to score the eventual game-winner.
Erin Sinkuler (Roswell, Ga.) was stout for the Blue Hose in the net in the loss, saving eight of Francis Marion's 15 total shots. The Blue Hose had a total of eight shots in the contest, forcing FMU goalkeeper Jacque Sutphin to make six saves.
The Blue Hose will try and get back to their winning ways after exactly a week off when they take on Big South opponent Liberty at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 30 at Martin Stadium.
