ROCK HILL, S.C. ? Presbyterian College dropped both games of a doubleheader with Winthrop on Thursday afternoon at Terry Field. The Eagles won game one 6-0 before tallying an 8-0 victory in the second game.
PC is now 12-27 on the 2008 season. Winthrop improved to 27-15 on the year with the two wins over the Blue Hose on Thursday.
Three Blue Hose tallied hits in game one with Taylor Staten (Belvedere, S.C.), Laura Tate (Spartanburg, S.C.) and Mary Gordon (Vernon, Conn.) each picking up a hit in the game one loss.
Amanda Miller (Orlando, Fla.), Krysten Handy (Gainesville, Fla.), Morgan White (Orlando, Fla.) and Paige Cassady (Orlando, Fla.) each acquired a hit in PC's loss in game two.
Gordon struck out four batters from the circle in game one, while Cassady struck out two in game two.
The Blue Hose next travel to Macon, Ga. for a doubleheader with Mercer on Sunday, April 20. First pitch in game one is scheduled for 2 p.m.
