CLINTON, S.C. ? Presbyterian College women's soccer outshot Big South opponent Coastal Carolina 13-11 on Tuesday evening at Martin Stadium, but were unable to convert shots to goals and dropped a 2-0 decision to the Chanticleers.

Senior midfielder Ashley Cook (Charlotte, N.C./Myers Park) led the Blue Hose with three shots on Tuesday evening. Her free kick in the 37th minute of the first half forced Coastal Carolina goalkeeper Amy Haggard to make a save.  Cook also fired a shot on goal in the 71st minute which was saved.

Coastal Carolina (5-3-0, 1-0-0) sophomore Anna Tupy netted her first goal of the season in the 13th minute when she broke free from a huddle in front of the goal to slip the ball past junior goalkeeper Abby Young (Charlotte, N.C./Myers Park).  The two teams traded shots to enter halftime with the Chanticleers holding a 1-0 advantage.

Junior Tricia Bryan (Pawley's Island, S.C./Waccamaw) nearly evened up the score in the 59th minute of play when her header landed the ball in front of the Coastal Carolina net among a crowd of players.  The ball was eventually deflected by a Chanticleer player to keep the Blue Hose scoreless in the second half.

The Chanticleers extended their lead when Blair Monroe scored from 10 yards out off a pass from Emily McColl in the 61st minute. The score remained 2-0 until the clock ran out at the end of the game.

Young and Haggard each made four saves in 90 minutes of action while Coastal Carolina also registered a team save.

PC (1-7-0, 0-2-0) travels next to Radford for a Saturday evening matchup with the Highlanders.
