Asheville, N.C. - Presbyterian College women's soccer
dropped its fourth consecutive defeat on Saturday afternoon to the UNC Asheville,
3-0. The Blue Hose conceded a pair of
first half goals within a span of ten minutes and could not recover.
PC falls to 3-8 on the season and 0-3 in the league after
the loss to the Bulldogs. Asheville
improves to 4-5-1 and 1-2 in the Big South.
The Blue Hose are goalless in their last four matches, failing to score
in the last 371 minutes.
The Bulldogs broke on top in the 29th minute as
Meagan Bradham sent a pass to McKenna Stockhausen. Stockhausen made a nice run
and sent a cross to Chloe McCleary-Small who tapped the ball into the back of
the net for a 1-0 lead at 29:41.
Eight minutes later, Bradham hit a rocket from 15 yards out
for a 2-0 Asheville lead at 37:09.
The second half was scoreless until the 84th
minute. Beeler made a great run and took a shot from 10 yards out that Blue
Hose goalkeeper Sara Beth Anderson stopped. The ball went right back to Beeler
who tucked the ball into the back of the net for a 3-0 Asheville lead.
PC tallied 10 shots to Asheville's 16 attempts. The Blue Hose earned six corners while
conceding just two.
The Blue Hose will return to action with a pair of home Big
South matches against Coastal Carolina and Charleston Southern on Friday
evening at 7 p.m. and Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m.
