CLINTON, S.C. -
Each week the Presbyterian College sports information office will post
match notes for the upcoming football game. The notes include insight
between the teams, tidbits of information not found anywhere else about
the PC football program in addition to Big South Conference information
and statistics. This week, the notes are a preview for the game against Charleston Southern, which is being broadcast by WLBG. Click on the pdf to view this week's notes.
This week, the contest has been deemed as "Take A Kid To The Game." Any child 12 and under will get into the game for free.
The Blue Hose Athletics Department will also have a place for fans to bring tennis shoes for Samaritan's Feet. Fans are encouraged to bring tennis shoes or a $5.00 donation to the game.
The Student Athlete
Advisory Committee (SAAC), in conjunction with the entire athletic department,
are encouraging all Blue Hose fans to bring a pair of new or gently used shoes,
be it sneakers, cleats, basketball shoes, running shoes, anything as long as it
has laces, to the game Saturday. SAAC members will be there taking up shoes, as
well as monetary donations, giving further information about the project, and
answering any questions. All gifts are tax deductible and checks may be made
payable to Samaritan's Feet.
As part of the
competition, the institution within the Big South Conference which collects the
greatest number of shoes and the most money throughout the year will be awarded
the Kallander Cup of Service Excellence, to be housed at the school for the
subsequent year, as well as given the opportunity to send some of its student
athletes to Africa to wash and place shoes on children's feet, all expenses of
which will be covered by the Samaritan's Feet organization.
Following our motto,
Dum Vivimus Servimus, which we hold so dear to our hearts, Presbyterian College has set nearly the highest goal in
the Big South Conference, over double its student population, to 2500 pairs of
shoes to be collected this year. Help SAAC in its efforts to support
Samaritan's Feet by providing for the millions of children, not just abroad,
but within our own area, who go without proper footwear daily, and win the Big
South Conference competition!
