MT. PLEASANT, S.C. - Presbyterian College
women's soccer was unable to stop the College of Charleston Cougars on Sunday
afternoon, falling 6-1 in the finale of the College of Charleston Tournament. Senior Stephanie Aaron posted her first goal
in a Blue Hose uniform in the loss.
PC falls to
1-5-1 while the Cougars improve to 4-4-0 on the season.
College of
Charleston went up 1-0 with a goal from Sarah Schiadle off a scramble in the
box. The Cougars went 2-0 up from a goal
off Maryam Buazza at 17:59.
Just fifty
seconds later, PC cut the lead to 2-1 when Aaron opened her PC scoring
account. She was fed by Tori Lopez who
posts her first career assist on the play.
The Cougars
went two goals up again in the 38th minute when Megan Hilbert scored
her first goal of the season. The teams
remained scoreless into the halftime break.
Two more goals
came in quick succession as Sloane Levin scored first in the 48th
minute when she intercepted an attempted clearance and scored into the upper
corner of the net from the top of the box.
Just a minute later, Levin duplicated the feat for her fourth goal of
the season to give Charleston a 5-1 lead.
The final goal
came in the 76th minute as Kelly Gautreaux headed a corner kick into
the net to make the score 6-1.
The Blue Hose
registered just four shots in the match to Charleston's 24 attempts. Three attempts for the Blue Hose finished on
goal.
Goalkeeper
Jordan Broadway made 10 saves in her first career start for the Blue
Hose. She went the distance allowing all
six goals.
Aaron and
Stephanie Allen were selected to the all-tournament team.
The Blue Hose
visit Eastern Kentucky this weekend for a 5 p.m. tilt with the Colonels.
