RICHMOND, Ky. - Presbyterian College
women's soccer was shutout on Friday night by Eastern Kentucky, 4-0. The Blue Hose only registered four shots in
the match while goalkeeper Sarah Beth Anderson made 10 saves in the ninety minutes.
PC falls to
1-6-1 on the season while EKU improves to 2-4-1.
Sara Simpson
recorded the first shot of the match when her effort on goal was saved by the
EKU goalkeeper.
The Colonel's
first goal came in the seventh minute off the boot of Nicole Donnelly. EKU doubled the advantage in the 38th
minute and took the 2-0 lead into the halftime break.
Out of the
break, EKU scored again just six minutes into the second half when Eku Muller
scored for the second time in the match.
Kylie Mills
nearly posted PC's first goal of the match when her shot off a Stephanie Allen
corner kick struck the post and stayed out of the goal.
In the 80th
minute, Donnelly scored her second goal of the game to match Muller's
performance.
PC's next
match is on Wednesday night against local rival Erskine. The match starts from 7 p.m. at Martin
Stadium.
