SPARTANBURG, S.C.-The PC women's tennis team dropped a
6-1 decision to Wofford and moves to 5-2 on the young season.
The Terriers clenched the doubles point with a 8-6
victory over Patricia Alves (Campinas, Brazil) and Lindsay Krause (Roswell, Ga.)
at the number three doubles spot after taking the second doubles spot.
PC fought hard during singles play, but Wofford was able
to take the first four singles points with wins at one, three, four and five. Courtney Gardiner (Powder Springs, Ga.) came
up just short at the five spot, falling 3-6, 6-2, 8-10, but Krause was able to
follow up with a hard fought 6-3, 1-6, 10-8 victory at the number six spot to
earn a point for the Blue Hose. The
Terriers, however, won the last spot to come away with the 6-1 match win.
The Blue Hose return to the court tomorrow, Feb. 19., for
a double header against Converse and Appalachian State. PC will face Converse and 9 a.m., followed by
a 2:30 p.m. matchup against Appalachian State.
