The Presbyterian College football team hosts its second game in as many weeks as the Blue Hose take on North Greenville Saturday, Sept. 10 at Bailey Memorial Stadium in Clinton, S.C. Kick-off is slated for 1:30 p.m.
The Crusaders come to the friendly confines of Bailey Memorial Stadium for the second time in as many seasons. North Greenville came away with the 34-17 victory in the 2010 home opener for PC. NGU capitalized on three first -half turnovers to come away with its first-ever win over the Blue Hose.
North Greenville opened the 2011 season with a 46-17 win at Newberry. Quarterback Willy Korn connected on 12-of-19 passes with three touchdowns to lead the Crusaders.
PC opened the season Saturday, Sept. 3 against the 8th-ranked Wofford Terriers. After falling behind 28-7, the Blue Hose scored 21 unanswered points to tie the game at 28 late in the fourth quarter. Wofford scored with just under a minute to play to break the deadlock and the next PC drive was cut short with an interception to make the final, 35-28 score in favor of the Terriers.
Presbyterian College has produced two of its biggest scoring games in school history against North Greenville. The first time the teams played in 2001, the Blue Hose defeated the Crusaders, 61-0. In 2007, it was a shoot-out, with PC prevailing 66-52.
All five home games this year will be shown live the Big South Network. Fans can log into www.BigSouthSports.com for a subscription. Two home games, Gardner Webb and Charleston Southern, will be broadcast on WMYA-TV, while the game at Furman will be shown on CSS.
