Campbell won the doubles point and the top three singles matches en route to a 5-2 win over the Presbyterian College men's tennis team in Big South action this afternoon in Buies Creek, N.C.
PC drops to 11-13 overall and 1-4 in the Big South while Campbell improves to 8-10, 3-3.
The Blue Hose lost a hard-fought doubles point after dropping all thraee matches by very close margins. William O'Connell and Rafael Berghaus fell to Adrien Rossignon and Josep Baro at number one doubles, 8-7, while the duo of Andrew Bringham and Zachary Sprouse lost to David Clavera and Fernando Guillen, 8-5, at number two.
Number three doubles between Steven Billington and August Iwdal and Nathan Crocker and Edward Sneed was decided by an 8-6 score.
Campbell took the number one, two, three and five singles matches to earn the win with PC's O'Connell winning at number four, 6-2, 6-2, and Gonzalo Asis taking number six singles, 6-2, 6-2.
Grayson Mills came close to taking the first set at number one singles, getting clipped by a 6-4 margin. He lost the second set 6-2. After dropping the first set at number three singles, 6-1, Sprouse made a match of it before falling by a close 7-5 score in the second set.
The Blue Hose next travel to UNC Asheville, for a 2 p.m. match Wednesday, April 11.
