Football Opens Big South Play at Home against VMI

For the first time in league history, the Presbyterian College football team will open Big South play at home, as the Blue Hose host the VMI Keydets in a 2 p.m. match-up Saturday, Oct. 19.  The game will be broadcast for free of the Big South Network, sponsored by State Farm, at BigSouthSports.com.  Fans can also tune into the WKRI i91.9-FM.

The Blue Hose return from their second bye week of the season with three straight home contests, the first coming against the Keydets.  VMI owns a 4-2 record over PC and took the win in Lexington, Va., last season, 17-7.  PC was held to 45 yards of total offense in the first half, but rallied in the fourth quarter with a 23-yard touchdown catch by Jeremiah McKie.  PC ran out of time as VMI came away with the eventual win.

The Blue Hose took the 38-6 win the last time the Keydets were in Clinton, back in 2011.  The other PC win came in the first meeting, with the Blue Hose coming away with the 45-21 victory.

With an average margin of 15.6 points, no meeting has been particularly close between the schools.  The closest game in their short series was last season's 10-point contest.
