CLINTON, SC - Presbyterian College runners Seth Warner and Gabriele Lesieur were named to the Big South Conference's Men's and Women's Cross Country All-Academic Teams on Saturday after the conclusion of the Championship race.
Warner (Fort Mill, SC) is a senior English major with a cumulative GPA of 3.74, a concentration in creative writing and a minor in history. A five-time Dean's List recipient, he has led PC in all six of his races this season, running the team's fastest 8k of the year (29:11) and narrowly missing out on his PR at the Royal Cross Country Challenge. At the FMU Invitational he established a new collegiate 5k PR (17:31) and led PC to its first team title since 2000.
A co-captain, Warner is also a leader outside of practice. He is the co-editor of PC's literary magazine Figs and Thistles while also volunteering at the Writing Center. He is the vice-president of PC's chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, the English honor fraternity and a SAAC rep. Warner also is a member of PC's Spanish Club and a founding member of the International Cultural Exchange Club. During the spring of 2013, he spent a semester studying abroad in Spain. In his spare time, he also delivers newspapers to the campus.
Lesieur (Augusta, Ga) is a junior biology major at PC with a cumulative 3.76 GPA. A four-time Dean's List recipient, she has also led the Blue Hose in all 16 of her collegiate races. A co-captain, Lesieur ran a lifetime PR of 20:25 earlier this season that ranks 13th all-time for the program. She also finished 4th at the FMU Invitational, leading the Blue Hose to runner-up honors.
Not just a great athlete and student, Lesieur is also a member of the Honor Council and ROTC program at PC. Training to be an Army doctor, she completed Airborne School this past summer and has taken turns this semester as a Platoon Leader and Sergeant. In her spare time, she is a tutor for the Biology Department.
