CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's tennis team dropped a Big South Conference road match on Friday afternoon to Charleston Southern, 7-0.

PC moves to 7-9 overall and 0-3 in the Big South. The Blue Hose will next take on Longwood in Virginia on Sunday at 1 p.m. Charleston Southern improves to 7-4 on the year and 4-0 in league play.

The Buccaneers took all nine matches between doubles and singles action en route to the win.

The Blue Hose offered some close results in doubles play. Patricia Alves (Campinas, Brazil) and Greer Ransom (Athens, Ga.) fell at No. 1 to Angelica Sidorenko and Alia Nour, 8-6, while Lucia Leahy (Charlotte, N.C.) and Haley Elliott (Greenville, S.C.) came up short against Susita Das, 8-5. Kayla Stanford (Canton, Ga.) and Caroline deLoach (Columbia, S.C.) dropped a second-flight match to Alexandra Walters and Yvonne Hubler, 8-4.

In singles action, deLoach fell to Sidorenko at the third flight, 6-3, 6-4, while Elliott dropped a sixth-flight match to Das, 6-3, 6-2.

At No. 1, Marketa Placha topped Ransom, 6-2, 6-2 and Alves fell to Hubler at the second flight, 6-2, 6-1.  Stanford and Leahy both dropped matches as the Buccaneers completed the shutout.
