Football Takes on Charlotte this Weekend at Bailey Stadium

The Presbyterian College football team takes on the Charlotte 49ers this Saturday, Sept. 28, at Bailey Stadium in Clinton, S.C.  Kick-off is slated for 2 p.m., and will air live on ESPN3.

Due to the large crowd that is expected for the game, PC Athletics is making a small adjustment to the white paid lot, which is the $5 paid parking lot.  Parking in the white paid lot, for this game only, will be slotted.  As the fans enter the paid parking area, game-day staff will direct them to a specific parking spot.  Staff will begin slotting vehicles in the white paid lot at 10 a.m.

Gold, Blue and Garnet parking lots will NOT be affected.

The game will be a meeting of old versus new as the Blue Hose, in their 101st year, host the 49ers, who are in their first year.  Charlotte saw success early with wins over Campbell and Chowan but has lost its last two to N.C. Central and James Madison.

The Blue Hose, 1-2, are coming off a bye week after falling by one point at Furman, Sept. 14.  Leading PC so far this season is Demarcus Rouse who averages 86.0 yards per game, 6.4 a carry, and has recorded three touchdowns this season.  Kaleb Griffin is 30-of-40 with no interceptions at the quarterback spot.  He is averaging 107.3 yards per game for PC.  Catching a majority of the passes is Tobi Antigha who has 11 receptions for a total of 144 yards.  Defensively, Cory White will be looked to carry the load with the injury to Donelle Williams.  White has 19 tackles and is second on the team.

Charlotte is led by Matt Johnson, who is 90-of-137 and has thrown for eight touchdowns.  Taking care of the receiving duties is Austin Duke who has 21 catches for 63.5 yards per game.  The ground game belongs to Kalif Phillips who has 43 rushes for an average of 4.7 a carry.  With 32 tackles, Martay Mattox is pacing the team defensively.

Current PC president Dr. Claude Lilly is the former Dean of the Belk College of Business Administration at Charlotte.
