CLINTON, S.C.- At Martin Stadium on Wednesday night, the Presbyterian College Blue Hose and the Charleston Southern Buccaneers played to a 0-0 double overtime tie.
The Blue Hose outshot the Buccaneers 7-1 throughout the two overtime periods, but were unable to score in either OT as they went to 3-4-2 overall and 0-1-2 in the Big South Conference. The Buccaneers drop to 4-6-1 and 0-2-1 in the conference.
Presbyterian had a 22-12 shot advantage over Charleston Southern; however the Buccaneers had an 8-5 advantage in corner kicks.
Hannah Gaither (Statesville, N.C./Statesville) registered four shots to lead the Blue Hose offense. Frances Whitesides (Lancaster, S.C./Lancaster), Sarah Yoss (Peachtree City, Ga./Starr's Mills), Sophie Cobb (Columbia, S.C./Cardinal Newman), and Kristen Peagler (Lithonia, Ga./Southwest DeKalb) each had three shots for PC.
PC goalkeeper Sydney Fontenot (Austin, Texas/James Bowie) recorded five saves in the tie, while Caitlin Cody made eight saves for Charleston Southern.
The Blue Hose will hit the road for the next four matches, first traveling to Liberty on Saturday Oct. 4 for a 12 p.m. Big South Conference matchup.
