BUIES CREEK, N.C.- The Presbyterian College women's soccer team fell to Campbell 2-1 on Saturday night in Big South Conference action.
Presbyterian (3-7-2, 0-4-2 Big South) scored early in the first half before a brief lightning delay, but the Camels scored two second-half goals, including one just two minutes before the final buzzer to earn the conference victory.
Sophie Cobb (Columbia, S.C.) put the Blue Hose on the board in the 16th minute on a free kick to the left of the box. The goal was Cobb's second of the season and gave the Blue Hose a 1-0 lead at halftime.
Campbell's Ashley Clark tied up the game when she scored in the 72nd minute on an assist from Ashley Hartert.
Clark scored again just after the 88-minute mark on a pass from Murita Storey to seal the victory for the hosts. The goal was Clark's sixth of the season.
The Blue Hose outshot the Camels 18-6 in the game, but Campbell held a 7-5 advantage in corner kicks. Hannah Gaither (Statesville, N.C.) led the Blue Hose with five shots.
Sydney Fontenot (Austin, Texas) recorded one save in goal in the loss. Campbell goalie Alexis Connors made eight saves to earn the win.
The Blue Hose will travel to Farmville, Va. on Wednesday to play Longwood in another conference matchup. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
