CLINTON, S.C.- The Presbyterian College men's soccer team lost to the Liberty Flames 1-0 in the team's Senior Night on Saturday night at Martin Stadium.
With the loss, the Blue Hose drop to 1-12 overall and 0-7 in the Big South Conference. The Flames improve to 9-5-1 on the season with a 4-3 record in conference play.
Ernest Siaw scored his second goal of the season right before halftime in the 42nd minute to put the Flames on the board 1-0 at the break. Alan Arellano was credited with the assist on the goal, while Blessing Tahuona had the initial touch.
The Flames outshot the Blue Hose 19-8 and also had an 8-2 advantage in corner kicks. John Speed (Decatur, Ga.) recorded two shots on goal, while Max Smith (Juneau, Alaska) and Steven Huppe (Maggie Valley, N.C.) had one shot on goal apiece.
Freshman Connor Behrend (St. Simons Island, Ga.) made an impressive 11 saves in his starting-goalie performance. Scott Sutarik made five stops in goal for the Flames.
The Blue Hose will host UNC Asheville on Wednesday Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. in the final game of the 2014 season.
