CLINTON, S.C. - Presbyterian College women's basketball returns to action after Thanksgiving with the opening game of a Blue Hose doubleheader. PC hosts SC State at 2 p.m. before the men's game against Bob Jones at 4:30 p.m. and both games will feature free admission. PC aims to pick up a victory after snapping their two-game winning streak in a narrow loss at Xavier on Wednesday, 45-43.

Saturday's game marks only PC's second at the Templeton Center this season and a key non-conference tune-up before Big South Conference games next week against Gardner-Webb and High Point. SC State will play its first game on the road on Saturday has yet to lose on the season after taking down USC Upstate by double-digits on Tuesday, 60-50.

PC hopes to snap a two-game losing streak to the Bulldogs following narrow SC State wins over the past two seasons. PC dropped a heartbreaker in Orangeburg last season, 43-41, nearly getting off a game-tying shot before falling short. Keyonna Allen tallied seven points and six rebounds while then-freshman Rebecca Walker added six points and six rebounds. The Blue Hose won the first four matchups in the all-time series that began when Presbyterian College made the jump to Division I. The average margin of victory in all six games stands at 6.3 points.

SC State brings a 3-0 win to Templeton Center by way of home wins over Allen (103-55), Columbia College (97-55) and USC Upstate (60-50). The Bulldogs have beaten opponents by an average of 33.4 points by shooting 48.0 percent from the field. Senior guard Kourtney Williams leads the team in scoring by averaging 19.7 points per game while Jasmine Coleman's 6.3 rebounds pace the Bulldogs on the boards.

A late second-half run helped the Xavier Musketeers edge PC on Wednesday night in Cincinnati, 45-43. PC held Xavier to 24 percent shooting in the second half, but five straight Musketeer points in the final minutes gave the home side enough to slip past the Blue Hose. Keyonna Allen set a new career-high with 15 rebounds while scoring 14 points for her fourth career double-double and the team's second of the season.

The Blue Hose boast the Big South Conference's top scoring defense through their first five games, holding opponents to an average of 46.0 points per game. Only one opponent has cracked the 50-point barrier with VCU's 55 on November 16 and PC has held foes to 45, 44 and 45 in the three games since. Coastal Carolina ranks second in the League, with 51.2 points allowed per game.

Redshirt junior Keyonna Allen posted 14 points and 15 rebounds on Wednesday for her fourth career double-double and PC's second of the season. Freshman Allie Wager recorded her first double-double performance with an impressive 20 points and 15 rebounds against Allen on November 18.

Keyonna Allen leads the Big South Conference by making 71.9 percent of her shots, converting 23 out of 32 field goal attempts. Allen went a perfect 7-for-7 in a win over Western Carolina on Saturday and went 6-for-8 against Xavier on Wednesday. The redshirt junior enters the weekend with a career shooting percentage of 51.2 percent and leads the team with 10.6 points per game.

PC enters the weekend holding opponents to 19.6 percent of their three-point field goal attempts, good enough for the top spot in the Big South Conference. Allen went 1-for-18 against the Blue Hose and PC held Xavier to 4-for-19 on Wednesday night.

The Blue Hose begin Big South Conference play on Tuesday night with a home test against the Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs at 7 p.m. PC will aim for revenge after Gardner-Webb took both meetings last year by a combined five points.
