CONWAY, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's tennis team fell to the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers on the road Sunday, 7-0.

PC moves to 8-15-1 on the year and 0-8 in the Big South Conference. The Blue Hose next travel to UNC Asheville for the regular season finale on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. Coastal Carolina improves to 16-4 on the year and 4-2 in League action.

The Blue Hose picked up a doubles win at the top flight with Greer Ransom (Athens, Ga.) and Courtney Gardiner (Powder Springs, Ga.) edging Kourtney Kowal and Honami Yazawa, 8-7. PC nearly took the point and the No. 3 match but Marie Babayan and Amanda Malatek squeezed past Caroline deLoach (Columbia, S.C.) and Kayla Stanford (Canton, Ga.), 8-5. At No. 2, Libby Scott and Dominque De Wit topped Patricia Alves (Campinas, Brazil) and Caroline Ferrari (Rome, Ga.), 8-3.

In singles play, Ferrari forced a third-set tiebreaker against Delay but the Chanticleer managed to slip by, 6-1, 2-6, 10-8.

Babayan topped deLoach at No. 5 and Lucia Leahy (Charlotte, N.C.) fell to Malatek at No. 6 by 6-1, 6-2 results in each match. At No. 3, Alves fell to Kowal, 6-4, 6-4, and Scott took a close first set from Ransom at No. 1 before winning the second set, 7-5, 6-2. Coastal's last win came at No. 2 in a retirement.
