ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The Presbyterian College women's tennis team dropped its regular season finale on Thursday, falling 7-0 in Asheville.

PC moves to 8-16-1 on the year and 0-9 in the Big South. The Blue Hose will await the conclusion of the League season this weekend and learn their seeding for next week's Musco Lighting Big South Conference Women's Tennis Championship at Gardner-Webb.

Greer Ransom (Athens, Ga.) gave Zoe Hamel a close match at No. 1 in a 6-3, 6-7, 10-3 result at the top flight. Caroline Ferrari (Rome, Ga.) also went to a third-set tiebreaker against Ericka Rivero before falling at the second flight, 6-2, 4-6, 10-5.

At No. 3, Amryn Soldier bested Patricia Alves (Campinas, Brazil) in a 6-0, 7-5 result whle Caroline deLoach (Columbia, S.C.) fell to Emily McNall at the fourth flight, 6-1, 6-1. Lucia Leahy (Charlotte, N.C.) nearly took a set from Christin Boissevain at the fifth flight, 7-6 (3), 6-0, while Gillian Lewis won over Kayla Stanford at No. 6, 6-4, 6-0.

In doubles action, Hamel and Rivero topped Alves and Stanford at No. 1 and the pairing of McNall and Lewis won over Leahy and deLoach at No.3 in a pair of 8-2 results. At the second flight, Ransom and Ferrari fell to Boissevain and Soldier, 8-3.
