The Presbyterian College women's soccer team fell to Wofford College, 3-0, in the first match of the season on Sunday evening in Spartanburg, S.C.

Wofford's Chelsea Turner scored the first goal of the game in the 33rd minute after a shot by Tanner Kaplan rattled off the crossbar and back to Turner for the put-in. The Terriers scored again a few minutes later when Maureen Buff scored on a penalty kick in the 37th minute. 

Wofford's Annika Jansson capped the scoring performances of the night when she scored in the 25th minute of the second half after a shot hit off the crossbar and rebounded back to her for the goal.

The Blue Hose finished the match with nine total shots and the Terriers had 13 shots. PC was on the lower side of the fouls, tallying 10 to Wofford's 11. PC's Keri O'Neill had three shots, while Kelly Kozera and Hannah Gaither each registered two shots for the Blue Hose.

Sydney Fontenot registered four saves in goal for the Blue Hose, allowing three goals, while Wofford's goalkeeper Kara Boggs had three saves. 

The Blue Hose will be back in action next Sunday Aug. 31, against USC Upstate in Spartanburg at 2 p.m.
