ROCK HILL, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's soccer team fell to Winthrop 1-0 in the final game of the season Tuesday at Eagle Field. The Eagles scored with under a minute and a half remaining in the match.
The Blue Hose ended the 2015 season with a 6-11-1, 2-7-1 Big South Conference record, while the Eagles hold a 6-8-3, 3-5-2 record this season.
Samantha Prytulak netted the game winner at the 88:41 mark with Karly Gustafson providing the assist.
PC outshot Winthrop 16-9, while putting five more shots on goal with a 9-4 advantage. The Blue Hose evened their shots with eight each half and put five on frame in the second half.
Sophie Cobb led the Blue Hose with four shots and put two on target, while Sarah Yoss took three shots and put two on frame and Ashlynn Powell produced two shots with both on goal.
Sydney Fontenot collected three saves in the game.
Savannah Austin (West Columbia, S.C.), Chandler Carter (Jackson, Ga.), Cobb (Columbia, S.C.), Christy Darracott (Augusta, Ga.), Fontenot (Austin, Texas) and Hannah Gaither (Statesville, N.C.) all ended their Presbyterian college soccer careers.
