CHARLESTON, S.C. - Presbyterian College (14-13, 9-9 Big South) makes its final road trip of the 2014-15 regular season on Tuesday when the Blue Hose head to Charleston to square off against the Charleston Southern Buccaneers (5-22, 1-17 Big South) at 7 p.m. The Blue Hose will look to put distance between themselves and Gardner-Webb in seventh place with a win on Tuesday and hand the Bucs their seventh straight loss. PC moved to .500 in the League with a 36-32 overtime win against Longwood on Saturday while the Bucs fell at Liberty, 64-53.

The Blue Hose made a dent in the all-time series against Charleston Southern with a win on January 20, 6-11, and have taken five wins in the last five meetings. The two sides first met in January of 1981, with PC's first win coming two meetings later in 1989. The Bucs' last win since 2011 came on January 21, 2013, with the Blue Hose grabbing the last two victories. PC's 71-40 win in January matched a school record for the largest margin of victory in a Big South game, tying a 71-40 win over UNC Asheville on February 2, 2013.

Charleston Southern looks to snap a six-game losing streak following a 64-53 loss at Liberty on Saturday. The Bucs' last win came at home against UNC Asheville on February 2, 70-57. Tatum Jarvis leads the team in scoring with 12.5 points per game while Monique Maximilien's 6.1 rebounds per game leads the team in that category.

Over the last five games, Cortney Storey leads the team with 15.0 points per game. Rebecca Walker paces the Blue Hose in rebounds, with 5.2, and Janie Miles's 2.8 assists lead the team.

The Blue Hose enter Tuesday 12-3 when leading at halftime, 13-3 when outrebounding  their opponent and 11-3 in the state of South Carolina.

Saturday's win at Longwood marked several other firsts. The victory marked PC's first when trailing at halftime this season, snapping a 10-game losing streak when down at the break. The game also marked PC's first win when scoring 39 or fewer points (previously 0-3) and gave the team its first win in Virginia for a 1-4 record in the commonwealth this season.

PC fought back in the second half to get a 36-32 overtime win over the Longwood Lancers at Willett Hall on Saturday afternoon. Keyonna Allen (Forest Park, Ga.) led PC with 10 points in the win. Rebecca Walker (Snellville, Ga.) and Cortney Storey (Fayetteville, Tenn.) both scored seven points and had nine rebounds apiece for the Blue Hose. In overtime, Kyndal Skersick made a pair of foul shots, but Storey hit a trey for PC to put them up 33-32. Allen took a pass from Miles and Storey made an insurance foul shot to give the Blue Hose the four-point road win.

Freshman Cortney Storey scored a PC Division I record 27 points as the Blue Hose blew past visiting Coastal Carolina on February 10, 78-56. Storey went 10-for-11 from the floor and her 27 points surpassed the previous record of 26, shared by Mariah Pietrowski (March 5, 2012 vs. Charleston Southern) and Amanda Mills (December 18, 2008 vs. Stetson). Her total marks the most for a PC women's basketball player since Amy Jones scored 38 against USC Upstate on December 17, 2006 and her 10 field goals and 90.9 shooting percentage also tied school Division I records.

For the second straight week, freshman guard Cortney Storey (Fayetteville, Tenn.) earned the Big South Conference The Crons Brand Freshman of the Week award, the League announced on February 16. Storey averaged 17.5 points per game in contests against Coastal Carolina and Liberty, going 6-for-7 from long range and connecting on 65 percent of her field goals. The freshman scored 27 points against Coastal Carolina last Tuesday and against Liberty, Storey finished one point off the team scoring lead but led the Blue Hose in assists and steals.

The team's Saturday win over Longwood marked PC's second overtime game of the season and second win. PC has played one overtime game each year since 2011 and boasts a 5-0 marker since then, with a 5-1 record in Big South overtime games. The team's last overtime loss came in at home (52-50) to Savannah State on January 12, 2011. PC has beaten Gardner-Webb (59-57, 2011-12), Campbell (68-62, 2012-13), Coastal Carolina (71-68, 2013-14) and Coastal Carolina (84-78, 2014-15) since then before Saturday's win at Longwood.

PC's Valentine's Day loss to Liberty moved PC's home record to 10-2 at the Templeton Center and 7-2 in the Big South. The Blue Hose hold opponents to 33.1 percent shooting at the Templeton Center and average a rebounding margin of +7.3 The team has maintained a winning record at home in each of the last three seasons, beginning in 2011-12.

The Blue Hose boast the nation's fifth-ranked scoring defense, holding opponents to an average of 51.1 points per game. PC held NC Central to 33 points on December 20 and set a new season-low with 32 against Longwood on Saturday.

PC also ranks 10th in the country in field goal percentage defense, holding opponents to 34.5 percent. PC has held 22 of its 27 opponents to under 40 percent from the field this season after holding Longwood to 23.5 percent (12-for-51) on Saturday for a 14-8 record in those games. The team accomplished that feat 22 times last season with a 9-13 record, allowing over 40 percent only eight times. The Blue Hose also rank 11th in the country in three-point field goal defense, allowing only 26.4 percent of shots from distance.

PC has played seven players this season in their first season of collegiate basketball. Those seven (Janie Miles, Allie Wagner, Cortney Storey, Tia Mason, Elizabeth Landers, Jameka Braden and Kendra Talley) have contributed 52.0 percent of the team's points, 35.9 percent of the team's rebounds and 48.2 percent of the team's minutes. In the January 10 double overtime win at Coastal Carolina, freshmen Janie Miles played 42 minutes and Cortney Storey played 40.

Aianna Kelly (1.38) and Janie Miles (1.09) rank fifth and 10th, respectively, in assist/turnover ratio through 18 Big South Conference games. PC boasts only one of two pairs from the same team in the top 10, with Liberty checking in at second and seventh. Cortney Storey (1.00) sits just outside the top 10, in 12th.
