CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Presbyterian College women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 road match to Charlotte on Wednesday afternoon at the Halton-Wagner Tennis Complex.

PC's record drops to 3-1 overall with a match against Limestone on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Templeton Tennis Courts. Charlotte moves to 1-1 on the year.

Charlotte won all three doubles matches. Fleur Holtkamp and Victoria Pahlett topped Demi Henschel (Alberta, Canada) and Greer Ransom (Athens, Ga.) 6-3 at No. 1 and the pairing of Tyler Baker and Lisa Grosselius won over Claire-Mitchell Andrews (Tampa, Fla.) and Brittany Nuttall (Atlanta, Ga.) 6-1 at No. 2. The match at flight three was not finished.

In singles, Ransom gave Pahlett a close match at No. 1 in a 6-4, 6-3 flight. Nuttall was defeated by Grosselius at No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-2, while Henschel lost in a close third set tiebreaker at flight 3, 1-6, 7-5, 7-6 (7-4).  

At No. 4, Macy Vonderschmidt bested Andrews in a 6-1, 6-1 result, while Caroline deLoach (Columbia, S.C.) fell to Baker in a close decision 7-6 (8-6), 7-6 (8-6) at the fifth flight. Sara McBride (Travelers Rest, S.C.) was defeated by Natsuko Takayanagi 6-1, 6-1 at No. 6.
