BUIES CREEK, N.C.- Erin Ruff (Chardon, Ohio) blasted a three-run homerun in the fifth inning to lift the Presbyterian College women's softball team to a 6-5 comeback victory over East Tennessee State on Saturday afternoon in Buies Creek, N.C.

PC earned its first win of the year as they go to 1-1 with another game to play on Friday night against UMES.

Blaire Miller (Dayton, Va.) hit an RBI to send Kersten Legacki (Cooper City, Fla.) home for an early Blue Hose lead in the second inning.

The Blue Hose held onto their 1-0 lead after two innings of play, but ETSU exploded for five runs in the bottom of the third, highlighted by Kelsey Smith's two-run homer, to take a 5-1 lead over the Blue Hose.

Legacki cranked a solo home run to left field at the top of the fourth to cut PC's deficit to 5-2.

Ruff's homerun to left field sent Jill McLean (Spotsylvania, Va.) and Jenna Harris (Clayton, N.C.) home to tie it up 5-5. Shelby Petik (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) got on base with a solid single up the middle. Petik stole second, advanced to third on a wild pitch, and stole home on a fielder's choice to give PC a 6-5 lead heading into the bottom of the fifth. 

Sydney Seigler (North Augusta, S.C.) started the game on the mound for PC, striking out two. Natasha Sherrod (Atlanta, Ga.) came in for relief in the second inning and finished out the game, also striking out a pair. 

Ruff, Petik, and Legacki were all 2-for-4 on the day.
