CONWAY, S.C. - Presbyterian College has earned the sixth seed at the VisitMyrtleBeach.com Big South Women's Basketball Championship and will face No. 11 Charleston Southern on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the HTC Center in Conway, S.C. The Blue Hose dropped their regular season finale on Saturday afternoon, 60-53, but will a face a Buccaneers team they beat in overtime last Tuesday in Charleston, 60-53. This season marks PC's third-ever trip to the Big South tournament.

Freshman guard Cortney Storey (Fayetteville, Tenn.) was named the Big South Conference's Freshman of the Year, while redshirt junior forward Keyonna Allen (Forest Park, Ga.) earned Second Team All-Big South honors, the League announced on Monday. The Big South Freshman of the Year award marks the second in program history for the Blue Hose as Mariah Pietrowski first won the honor in 2009-10. Allen's selection marks the third Second Team laurel in team history.

The Blue Hose won their third straight game over the Bucs on Tuesday in Charleston, 60-53, in overtime. PC kicked off the season series with a 71-40 win in January, matching a school record for the largest margin of victory in a Big South game. Against the Bucs this season, PC has shot 43.5 percent with a turnover margin of +4.0. Keyonna Allen averaged 12.0 points and 6.5 rebounds over the two games while Aianna Kelly has averaged 10.0 points and 8.5 boards. The Blue Hose and Bucs have never met in the VisitMyrtleBeach.com Big South Women's Basketball Championship.

The Bucs have dropped their last eight games, dating back to a 70-57 win over UNC Asheville on February 2 for their lone win in Big South play. Tatum Jarvis has averaged 15.5 points and 7.0 rebounds in both games against the Blue Hose while Monquie Maximilen has averaged 9.0 rebounds against PC this season. Jarvis averaged 12.6 points overall through the regular season and the Bucs posted a positive turnover margin at +1.2.

Over the last five games, freshman Cortney Storey leads the team with 12.6 points per game and shares the assists lead with Aianna Kelly, at 2.8 per outing. Keyonna Allen paces the Blue Hose in rebounds, with 7.0 per game.

A PC win would send the Blue hose to Thursday's quarterfinals where they would face No. 3 High Point at 8 p.m.

The Blue Hose enter Tuesday 12-4 when leading at halftime, 14-3 when outrebounding  their opponent and 12-4 in the state of South Carolina. PC also posted a 6-1 record when playing on Tuesdays this season and is 10-4 when shooting 70 percent or better from the free-throw line.

PC's January 21 win at Longwood marked several firsts. The victory marked PC's first when trailing at halftime this season (now at two), snapping a 10-game losing streak when down at the break. The game also marked PC's first win when scoring 39 or fewer points (previously 0-3) and gave the team its first win in Virginia for a 1-4 record in the commonwealth this season.

PC held a halftime lead, but couldn't overcome a strong second half by Winthrop and fell on Senior Day on Saturday, 53-60.  The Blue Hose honored seniors Noelle Carter, Kasey Hobbie and Keyonna Allen before the game, along with senior manager Brianna Knott. PC was led by Allen with her 20 points and 11 rebounds, while Janie Miles chipped in ten points. 

The Blue Hose make their third straight appearance at the VisitMyrtleBeach.com Big South Women's Basketball Championship. PC lost its tournament debut in 2013 as a third-seed to Radford, before earning its first-ever win last season against Longwood (54-40) before falling to No. 2 Liberty in the quarterfinal.

PC erased an 11-point deficit to get its second consecutive overtime win on Tuesday night over Charleston Southern at the Buc Dome, 56-48. Aianna Kelly led the Blue Hose with 14 points, including an 8-for-10 performance from the foul line, and a season-high 13 rebounds. Cortney Storey chipped in 13 points and four assists, while Janie Miles had 11 points. PC outscored Charleston Southern 10-2 in overtime.

The team's Tuesday win over Charleston Southern marked PC's third overtime game of the season and third win. PC has played one overtime game each year since 2011 and boasts a 5-0 marker since then, with a 5-1 record in Big South overtime games. The team's last overtime loss came in at home (52-50) to Savannah State on January 12, 2011. PC has beaten Gardner-Webb (59-57, 2011-12), Campbell (68-62, 2012-13), Coastal Carolina (71-68, 2013-14), Coastal Carolina (84-78, 2014-15), Longwood (36-32, 2014-15) since then before Tuesday's win at Charleston Southern.
