CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's tennis swept both doubles matches and all four singles matched played against the short-handed North Carolina A&T squad on Friday afternoon at the Templeton Tennis Courts for the 7-0 victory. PC improved to 7-4 on the season with the victory.
In doubles, Tracy Johnson and Nicole Croxton earned 6-1 victory at No. 1 and Kayla Stanford and Brittany Nuttall won 6-2 at No. 2 to give PC the early 1-0 lead.
On the singles side, Johnson claimed a three-set victory on court one, 6-0, 5-7, 6-2, for her team-high ninth singles win of the year. Nuttall continued her success with a 7-6 (7-3), 6-4 victory on court two to push her win total to seven on the season.
Croxton won a close match at No. 2, 7-6 (7-3), 6-3, for her fifth singles victory on the season. Stanford then earned her second victory of the year with a 7-5, 7-6 (7-4) win on court four to wrap the match.
PC returns to action with two matches in Orlando, Fla. on Sunday. The Blue Hose will face Florida A&M at 10 a.m. and Mount Saint Mary's at 7 p.m. to kick off spring break.
