CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's tennis team fell to Radford, 5-2, in the team's second conference match of the season on Saturday afternoon at the Templeton Tennis Courts in Clinton, S.C.
Radford swept the doubles matches to take the early 1-0 lead. The Highlanders' Meili Martin and Tarrannum Handa earned a 6-2 win at No. 1, while Natalie Sayer and Grace Sarver won by the same score on No. 2. The match on court three proved to be the closest but turn in Radford's fashion, 7-6 (7-4).
The Blue Hose would claim two of the six singles with wins on courts five and six. Claire-Mitchell Andrews earned her sixth singles victory of the season with a three-set victory by scores of 3-6, 6-2, 6-3. Nicole Croxton then ninth singles win of the season with a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 6. Matches on courts two, three and four each had a set with a score of 7-5 but went in the Highlanders' favor.
PC is back in action on Monday with a road match at USC Upstate at 3 p.m.
