PC Falls to Wofford on Saturday

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's tennis team lost just its second match since February 4, falling to Wofford, 5-2, on Saturday afternoon at the Templeton Tennis Courts in Clinton, S.C. The Blue Hose drop to 9-4 on the year, while the Terriers improve their record to 9-5.

The Terriers were able to take the doubles point with wins on courts one and two. Brittany Nuttall and Beth Taylor, playing together for the first time this season, earned PC's lone doubles win with a flawless 6-0 victory on court three. Wofford took each of the other two matches by a score of 6-2 to take a 1-0 lead.

In singles, PC claimed a pair of wins, coming on courts one and five, but Wofford took the other four en route to the win. Tracy Johnson recorded her 10th singles victory of the year, winning 6-4, 6-1 on court one. Nicole Croxton earned her eighth singles victory of the season, claiming a 6-3, 7-6 (7-5) win at No. 5. All six singles matches were decided in straight sets.

PC returns to action on Wednesday, hosting Newberry at 4 p.m. at the Templeton Tennis Courts in Clinton.
