PC Falls to Campbell on Sunday

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's tennis fell to Campbell in its second conference match of the year on Sunday afternoon, 5-2, at the Templeton Tennis Courts in Clinton, S.C. PC falls to 10-5, 0-2 in the Big South, while the Camels improve to 6-7, 3-2 in the Big South.

The Blue Hose were able to claim the doubles point for the fourth time in its last five matches with wins on courts two and three. Tracy Johnson and Nicole Croxton earned a 6-2 victory at No. 2 and Brittany Nuttall and Beth Taylor teamed up for a 6-4 victory at No. 3 to give PC the 1-0 lead.

Singles play would turn in Campbell's favor with the Camels taking five of the six matches. Beth Taylor claimed the lone Blue Hose win with a 6-3, 6-0 victory on court three to improve to 8-4 on the year. Croxton won the opening set on court four, 7-6, but Campbell's Alexandra Nicoara rallied to take the final two sets, 6-1, 6-3, to take the match.

PC is back in action next weekend with a pair of road conference matches, taking on Longwood on Saturday and Liberty on Sunday.
