Gardner-Webb Tops Presbyterian in Conference Finale

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The Presbyterian College women's tennis team dropped its Big South finale on Tuesday afternoon at Gardner-Webb, 7-0, in Boiling Springs, N.C. The Blue Hose fall to 12-9 overall and finish Big South play at 2-6.

The Runnin' Bulldogs took the early match lead by taking the doubles point with a sweep of three matches. GWU took the three matches by scores of 6-1, 6-3 and 6-4 on courts one, two and three, respectively, to go up 1-0.

GWU then kept the momentum by taking each of the six singles matches on the afternoon. The closest of the day came on court five, with Nicole Croxton forcing a third set. The sophomore dropped the first set, 6-1, but rallied to take set two 7-6 (8-6). GWU's Catherine White would emerge on top, taking the third set tiebreaker, 1-0 (10-6), to take the match.

PC wraps up the regular season on Friday, hosting NJIT at 10 a.m. on Senior Day for the Blue Hose.
