CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's tennis team saw its season come to end an on Friday, falling to the No. 2 seed Charleston Southern, 4-0, in the quarterfinals of the Big South Championship in Winston-Salem, N.C.  The Blue Hose finish the season with a 12-11 record overall.

CSU clinched the doubles point with wins on courts one and two. The Buccaneers' Sophie Cloessner and Nicolin Luecke claimed a 6-0 victory at No. 1 and Mi'Kola Cooper and Valeria Koussenkova took No. 2, 6-2, to give CSU a 1-0 lead. Beth Taylor and Brittany Nuttall were tied at 3-3 on court three but the match went unfinished.

Charleston Southern then won the first three singles matches to clinch the victory. Cloessner defeated Taylor in straight sets, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 2. Koussenkova topped Nicole Croxton, 6-2, 6-1, on court five and Cooper ended the match with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Caroline Ferrari on court three.

The remaining three matches went unfinished. Nuttall was up a set at No. 4 after taking the first, 6-3, and trailed by just a game in set two, 3-2, when the match was clinched.

PC ends the season with 12 victories, tied for the most in the program's Division I history. Five different players finished the season with double-digit singles victories, most in PC's D1 era as well. Tracy Johnson finished with a 14-7 singles record and earned first team All-Big South honors, the first PC player to do so since joining the league.
